The Locking tab of NFS Server Properties determines how Server for NFS handles file-locking requests. If a Network File System (NFS) client requests a file lock, Server for NFS provides file locking on behalf of the client. If the session is interrupted before the operation is completed, Server for NFS can be configured to wait for a specified number of seconds, which enables the client to reconnect and request to reclaim the lock before clearing the lock.

The Locking tab also provides a way for you to manually clear file locks that may be outstanding.
