You use the Create File Screen dialog box to create new file screens, which allow you to block certain files from being saved on a volume or in a folder tree. A file screen affects all folders in the designated path. You can create a custom file screen or derive a new file screen from an existing template. We recommend deriving file screens from templates. This simplifies the management of your file screens because you can automatically update all file screens that are based on a specific template by editing that template.

Provides a text box for you to type the path for the file screen. (Or click Browse to search for the file screen path.)

Derive properties from this file screen template (recommended)

Specifies that the properties of the new file screen are copied from an existing file screen template. The list box lists the file screen templates that you can derive properties from.

Define custom file screen properties

Specifies that you will define custom properties for the file screen. To set the custom properties, click Custom Properties to open the File Screen Properties dialog box.

Lists a summary of properties for this file screen.
