In Windows® HPC Server 2008 R2 Beta 1, you can specify commands or scripts to run on nodes as they are allocated to or released from your job by adding Node Preparation and Node Release tasks. Node Preparation and Node Release tasks run once on each node that is allocated to the job. They can be used to provision the nodes and to collect data from the nodes when the job is done.
This guide provides information about how Node Preparation and Node Release tasks work, and includes example procedures that describe how to submit a job with a Node Preparation and a Node Release task.
Requirements
In order to complete the steps in this guide, you need:
- A Windows HPC Server 2008 R2
Beta 1 cluster with at least one compute node.
- User permission on the cluster.
