You can use the UDDI Services snap-in to register a UDDI Services site’s connection points in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) to advertise the site's presence and access point to other UDDI Services–aware applications and services, such as Microsoft Visual Studio. When you install UDDI Services, the default selection Self-register publishes the site that you are installing in AD DS. You can choose not to self-register during installation.

Note

You can also use this interface to remove a site from publication in AD DS.

Membership in Domain Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477.

To publish a site in AD DS
  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft UDDI Services, and then click UDDI Services Management Console.

  2. In the console tree, click the UDDI Services site that you want to publish in AD DS.

  3. On the Action menu, click Properties, and then click the Active Directory tab.

  4. On the Active Directory tab, click Publish, and then click OK.

Additional considerations

  • Publishing in AD DS requires user credentials with directory Publish permissions.
