The Remote Desktop Connection Manager tool is automatically installed on any computer on which the Remote Desktop Connection Broker (RD Connection Broker) role service has been installed. If you want to use Remote Desktop Connection Manager on another computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2, you can install Remote Desktop Connection Manager on that computer by using the following procedure.

To install Remote Desktop Connection Manager by using Server Manager
  1. On the computer on which you want to install Remote Desktop Connection Manager, open Server Manager. To open Server Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.

  2. In the left pane, right-click Features, and then click Add Features.

  3. On the Select Features page, expand Remote Server Administration Tools, expand Role Administration Tools, and then expand Remote Desktop Services Tools.

  4. Select the Remote Desktop Connection Broker Tools check box, and then click Next.

  5. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install.

  6. On the Installation Progress page, installation progress is noted.

  7. On the Installation Results page, confirm that installation of the Remote Desktop Connection Broker Tools succeeded, and then click Close.

Remote Desktop Connection Manager is available in Server Manager only if the Remote Desktop Services role is installed on the computer.

  1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.

  2. In the left pane, expand Roles, expand Remote Desktop Services, and then click Remote Desktop Connection Manager.
