Depending on the version of the Virtual Disk Service (VDS) provider that the storage subsystem is running, you may not be able to change the subsystem name.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477.

To rename a subsystem

  1. In the console tree, click Subsystems.

  2. In the Results pane, select the subsystem you want to rename.

  3. In the Actions pane, click Rename Subsystem.

  4. In the Rename Subsystem dialog box, type a new name for the subsystem, and then click OK.
