You can open MMC 3.0 either through the Windows interface
or the command line:
Using the Windows interface
- Click Start, click in the Start
Search text box, type mmc, and then press
ENTER.
Using a command line

To open MMC by using a command
line

Open a command window by clicking Start,
clicking in the Start Search text box, typing cmd,
and then pressing ENTER.

At the command prompt, type mmc, and then press
ENTER.

Notes |

- If you are restricted from using certain snap-ins by Local
Policies or Group Policies, you cannot open snap-in consoles that
contain those snap-ins.
- To open an existing or saved MMC console, browse to the snap-in
console or a shortcut to the snap-in console in Windows Explorer,
and then double-click it.
- You can also open an existing MMC console from another console
in which you are working. To do this, click the File menu,
and then click Open.
