If the default startup setting is Manual, you can use Microsoft Management Console to start a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) virtual server.

Procedure

To start an SMTP virtual server

  1. In Microsoft Management Console, expand the tree structure for the SMTP virtual server.

    For instructions about how to start Microsoft Management Console, see Start Microsoft Management Console.

  2. Click the SMTP virtual server to select it.

  3. On the Action menu, click Start.
