You can designate which user accounts can have operator permissions for the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) virtual server. After Windows user accounts are set up, you can grant permissions by selecting the account from a list. These permissions can be rescinded by removing the account from the list of virtual server operators.

Procedure

To assign operator permissions

  1. In Microsoft Management Console, select the SMTP virtual server, and then click Properties on the Action menu.

  2. On the Security tab, click Add to open the Select Users or Groups dialog box.

  3. Type a Windows user account name in the Enter object names to select (examples) box, click Check Names, and then click OK. The selected account will appear in Operators.
