Additional considerations
- To create a Group Policy Modeling query, you
must have the Perform Group Policy Modeling Analyses permission on
the domain or organizational unit that contains the objects on
which you want to run the query.
- Group Policy Modeling is available
only if at least one domain controller in the forest is running
Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
- If you run Group Policy Modeling in an
environment that supports Group Policy Preferences, the following
requirements must be met for the Group Policy Preferences settings
to appear in the report results:
- The computer from which you run Group Policy
Modeling must run Windows Server® 2008 R2 or
Windows Server® 2008.
- In mixed environments that use domain
controllers that run Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows
Server 2008, and domain controllers that run Windows
Server 2003, if you select a domain controller that runs
Windows Server 2003 when you run Group Policy Modeling, ensure
that the Group Policy Preferences client-side extensions (CSEs) are
installed on the domain controller. To download the Group Policy
Preferences CSEs for Windows Server 2003 (x86), see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=111852. To
