To manage storage resources on a remote computer, you have two options:

Either option allows you to work with quotas, screen files, manage classifications, schedule file management tasks, and generate reports with those remote resources.

Windows Server 2003 R2 does not support remote management of File Server Resource Manager. Classification and file management tasks are available only if the local computer is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 and the remote computer is running Windows Server 2008 R2. File Server Resource Manager can manage resources on either the local computer or a remote computer, but not both at the same time.
