You can install DirectAccess by using the Add Features wizard in Server Manager or in the Initial Configuration Tasks window.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To install DirectAccess
  1. Perform one of the following two steps to open the Add Features Wizard:

    • Open Server Manager. In the main window, under Features Summary, click Add features.

    • In the Initial Configuration Tasks window that appears when you first log on, under Customize This Server, click Add features.

  2. On the Select Features page, select DirectAccess Management Console.

  3. In the Add Features Wizard window, click Add Required Features.

  4. On the Select Features page, click Next.

  5. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install.

  6. On the Installation Results page, review the status, and then click Close.


After you complete the installation, DirectAccess Management Console appears in the list of features in Server Manager. You must now run the DirectAccess Setup wizard to configure your server for DirectAccess.
