You can configure background tracing with the Local DTC Properties sheet in the Component Services snap-in. You can use this interface to configure background tracing only; you cannot use it to control the tracing of individual transactions or to control trace settings remotely. To configure Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) tracing, you can select output options and logging options. You can use logging options to control the log file for the trace data.
Membership in Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

Open Component Services.

In the Component Services snap-in, double-click Computers, Computer Name, and Distributed Transaction Coordinator.

Right-click Local DTC, and then click Properties.

On the Tracing tab, under Output Options, select or clear the check boxes for the output options that you want.

Under Logging Options, click New Session, Stop Session, or Flush Data as appropriate.
As an option, you can also enter a value in Change the Max Num. Of Memory Buffers (size Page Size).

Click OK.

- Component Services is no longer in
Administrative Tools. To open Component Services, click
Start. In the search box, type dcomcnfg, and then
press ENTER.
